Pop-Up Library comes to area
Areas without libraries to utilize mobile service
The Barry-Lawrence Regional Library introduced a new mobile service in the past month in its Pop-Up Libraries.
Pop-Up Library, a mobile service, began operations in June. The experimental project takes library services to four otherwise-unserved communities in the bi-county region, including the Buck Prairie Church in rural Marionville, the Chesapeake vicinity, Reavisville and Butterfield. Stops are on Mondays.
Customers coming to the Pop-Up Library will be able to check out two items, either books, magazines or DVDs, plus enjoy craft and story time activities without a library card.
According to Library Director Gina Milburn, customers are asked to return materials either to the Pop-Up Library on their next visit, or take materials to the nearest branch.
No overdue fines will be charged. Customers can also swap items.
