Cubs earning state respect
Monett baseball shoots up rankings
Monett Baseball Coach Michael Calhoun told his team that he does not care about any state rankings because the team still needs to live up to the expectations.
However, his opinion has fallen on the deaf ears of the pollsters at the Missouri High School Baseball Coaches Association.
On Wednesday, the association released its first in-season poll of the year and the Cubs, with a record of 9-1, check in at No. 3 in Class 4, up two spots from their preseason ranking.
Monett's lone loss came against Billings on Saturday. The Wildcats checked in at No. 3 in Class 1.
