Tyson Foods offers Clergy Appreciation Day

Saturday, January 17, 2015
An educational and interactive experience was offered by Tyson Foods for pastors in the Monett area on Thursday for Clergy Appreciation Day. David Young, left, Tyson Foods complex manager, greeted about 20 pastors from area churches and offered them a tour of the plant. Young observed that workers greatly appreciate seeing the pastors visit the plant and learning what they do. Pastors were welcome to view how food is made at the facility, but could skip the slaughter section if they chose. Young wanted the pastors to be able to appreciate what their parishioners experience so that they can offer support and encouragement as needed. Young addressed the pastors prior to the tour in the plant conference room. The tour concluded with a meal, served compliments of Tyson. Murray Bishoff/times-news@monett-times.com
