Monett Chamber of Commerce to host Business Showcase

Thursday, August 1, 2013

Local area businesses will be on exhibit at the Scott Regional Technology Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10. This will be the first business showcase in approximately 20 years for Monett.

The event is being hosted by the Monett Chamber of Commerce.

"The first showcase is about getting people to the event," said Jeff Meredith, Chamber executive director.

Meredith was associated with the Joplin Chamber of Commerce where a business expo had been held for 26 years with great success.

"When you do an event for the first time in 20 years, you're not sure what's going to work," said Meredith. "I've taken what I learned at Joplin and put it in a smaller scale."

Meredith has been at the Monett Chamber of Commerce since May 2012 and is very excited to be in a position to promote local businesses. Meghan Shaner, executive assistant at the Monett Chamber, is working hand and hand with Meredith in preparing the expo.

"We want to showcase the local businesses and show Monett what we have to offer," said Shaner.

The following businesses have registered as venders for the showcase: Missouri Farm Bureau Insurance; First State Bank of Purdy; The Monett Times; Four States Dental; Prime Cut; Drury University; St. Clair of the Ozarks; Weiser Tent Services; UMB Bank; Modern Woodmen; Legal Shield; State Farm Insurance-Kylee Campbell; Crowder College; Century 21 Properties Unlimited; The Bayou; Barry-Lawrence Regional Library; Autumn Exteriors; Fritz Implements; Walmart; Sun Loan; Cox Monett Hospital;
