The Monett Kiwanis Club will hold its quarterly evening meeting open to the public at 6 p.m. on March 26 at Big Baldy's Barbecue, east of Hickory and Highway 60. Ron Hearst, meteorologist for KY3 television, will be the guest speaker. Cost is $10 per person and includes the meal.

The Monett Ministerial Association will conclude its weekly Lenten services at noon on March 27 at the Church of the Nazarene in Monett. Jeff Robertson will be the speaker. .

The Monett Senior Center will be setting up for its annual bake sale fundraiser from 8 to 11 a.m. on Friday, March 29 at the Monett Walmart. Pies, cakes, cookies and cinnamon rolls will be available.

Pierce City Central Elementary School will have a meeting concerning preschool and kindergarten screening at 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 11 at the school cafeteria. The school nurse, preschool and kindergarten teacher, speech teacher and principal will talk about expectations for first-year students. A nutrition program will also be offered. The Lawrence County Health Department will offer free well water test kits during National Public Health Week, from April 1 through April 7. Tests will be run for coliform bacteria and e-coli. Last year, 40 percent of the 224 wells tested were positive for bacteria. Kits will be available at the office, located at 105 W. North St. For information, call 417-466-2201.

The Tuesday Ladies Golf League will hold a kick-off breakfast at Grant's restaurant at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 26. All women interested in playing are invited to attend. Play will follow breakfast, weather permitting. For more information, contact Dixie Latshaw at 235-5331.

The Barry County Council on Aging will hold its monthly board meeting on Tuesday, March 26 at the Cassville Health Care and Rehab Center.

The Pierce City Community Easter Egg Hunt will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 30 in the field by the water tower on South Elm Street. The event is open to children ages 1 to 12, sponsored by local businesses and churches, organized by the Dacy Foundation.

The Barry County Clerk's Office will be open for absentee voting from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 30. Absentee voting will also continue on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Monday, April 1. Individuals with mobility issues, like walking or standing in lines, are encouraged to vote absentee.

A Zumba event to benefit the Monett Relay for Life will be held at the Monett Area YMCA Event Center from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 30. Registration fee is $15, and includes a T-shirt. The Monett/Purdy Habitat for Humanity affiliate is accepting applications for the next Habitat home to be built.
