William "Bill" W. Center, 85, Joplin, died at 5:35 a.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at his home.
He was born Dec. 23, 1923, in Sawyer, Kan. He was raised and educated in Barry County. He moved to Joplin in 1992 after living in Aurora for more than 35 years.
He married Maleta "Pat" Bishop on Jan. 24, 1942, in Cassville. She survives.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Barbara Fenske, Purdy, and Katherine Wilkerson, Joplin; three grandsons and four great granddaughters.
Graveside services were Friday, May 22, at Clio Cemetery near Jenkins with Reck Bushnell, minister, officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary, Joplin.
