Deborah Schoen hired at Stott City
Longtime Freistatt employee takes new clerk position
Deborah Schoen, former Freistatt clerk, was hired as the new clerk in Stotts City on March 16.
Schoen served as the Freistatt clerk for 17 years, resigning her position with the village last year. She said her experience will translate well to a successful term with Stotts City.
Schoen said she was hand-picked for the Stotts City position by former clerk Sarah Blankenship.
“Shortly after I resigned … Sarah contacted me to see if I would be interested in the city clerk’s position in Stotts City,” Schoen said. “She said she was going to resign because she found she had too many things on her plate that kept her busy.”
Blankenship held the position for three years.
Schoen said she had worked with Blankenship and Stotts City during her time as Freistatt clerk, she also said that she is pleased that Blankenship has offered to provide any help and guidance she needs as she gets started at Stotts City.
“I am in hopes I can bring new things to the Stotts City board that will be beneficial to the town and its residents,” she said. “I look forward to having a positive experience with this new position.”
