Wallace, 81, of Marionville, formerly of Monett, went to be with her Lord and husband Leo, on October 14, 2020, after a lengthy illness.

Billie was born on November 15, 1938, in Mt. Vernon, Mo., to Willard and Ruhammah Jenkins. She went to a small black country school until her parents moved to Mt. Vernon, where she would continue attending school until her graduation in 1956.

Billie married Leo Wallace on February 24, 1957, and they were happily married until his death on February 17, 2015. She had longed to be reunited with Leo every minute since the day he made his heavenly journey. He will be awaiting her arrival on the far banks of Jordan and will come running through the shallow water reaching for her hand.

Two children were born into the marriage. Terry Lee Wallace and Tammi Lea Wallace (Hodge). They raised their children in Monett, and they attended Monett schools.

Billie was preceded in death by her husband, Leo; son, Terry Wallace; parents, Willard and Ruhammah Jenkins; grandparents, Winfred and Fannie Hendricks and many brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws.

Loving family that she leaves behind are: sister, Donna Harris of Mt. Vernon; daughter, Tammi Hodge and her husband Tony of Cassville; daughter-in-law, Jo Ann Wallace of Monett; grandchildren, Bo Prock and wife Katie, Rakayla Phillips, Brady Wormington, Marcus Young and Miles Young; great-granddaughters, Chloe Prock and Lorraine Phillips; God-Daughers, Shari Young and husband Brad and Shona Mitchell; God-Son, T.J. Moss and wife Leann. The grandchildren were the light of her whole world. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family and a large circle of long-time friends.

Billie attended Chapel of Grace Church in Monett for many years. She lived for her weekly visits to her hairdresser Amanda Balmas, she loved hosting friends of her kids and grandkids at her home, she always loved visits from little Lorraine, she enjoyed attending the grandkids events, hearing Chloe sing made her burst with joy, she loved coloring, word searches, game shows and gospel music but her most favorite activity was doing laundry.

The most important job that Billie had was homemaker, mom and babysitter. After raising kids, she was a cashier at the grocery store that she and Leo owned in Miller. She also worked at the Woods Craft Store in Monett for several years.

Following Leo’s death, Billie moved to Ozarks Methodist Manor in Marionville. This became her happy, forever home where everyone there transformed from caregivers to friends to family. She loved everyone there and they always treated her with great love and respect, even standing by her bed and singing to her as she drew her last breaths.
