Cubs dealing with injuries, COVID related issues
Monett Athletic Director Daryl Bradley issued a tweet on Saturday stating that all football activities, including Friday night's varsity game at Lamar, have been cancel for the week.
“Due to injuries, COVID-related issues and concern for player safety, we felt it was the best decision for the athletes and program,” said Russ Moreland, Monett superintendent. “Our focus is getting the team healthy.
Moreland, declined to answer if there was a player with an active case of COVID that led to the cancellations.
The announcement of the suspension of football activities came less than 24 hours after the Cubs fell 50-0 to Cassville in the Barry County Brawl.
According to Cassville coach Lance Parnell the Wildcats are not dealing with any COVID-related issues stemming from the game.
