Installation held for new Lions Club officers

The Monett Lions Club met in June for its last meeting of the outgoing year and to install new officers. The main focus of attention was the annual picnic which was held in the pavilion next to the barbecue pit where club members prepared chicken dinners on July 4. The Monett Lions Club met in June for its last meeting of the outgoing year and to install new officers.

Outgoing Monett Lions Club President Karen Hamer announced honors for committee chairs of the local club during the installation ceremony for new officers. From left, Hamer acknowledged the work of fellow officers, whom she ascribed names to: Dori Minton, “ambitious” Community Kitchen chairman; Jackie Langley, “adaptable” chicken barbecue co-chairman; Rob Davis, “hard worker” apple butter co-chairman; Al Dohmen, “dependable” apple butter co-chairman; and Walt Hamer, “favorite” computer guy. Not pictured were Ralph Scott, the “encourager” program chairman; Barbara Carroll, the “efficient” vision care chairman; and Kathy Fertig, the “conscientious” chicken barbecue co-chairman.
