Aurora’s Freedom Foundation presented a $500 check to the Youth Empowerment Project at Aurora High School this summer. On hand for the ceremonies were Kim McCully-Mobley, left, YEP advisor, and Kaden Clark, the great-grandson of Snags Lechner, chairman of the Freedom Foundation in Aurora. Clark graduated in 2019 and is also a YEP member and Top Dawg Student Award winner. YEP works in tandem with the Community Foundation of the Ozarks and focuses on a variety of grant writing, scholarship, educational and outreach efforts in the school and community. The group was chartered here in 2012 and also partners with the Aurora Houn’ Dawg Alumni & Outreach Center in a variety of service projects and sense of place events. Contributed photo
