December blood drive draws highest number of donors for 2019

Three honored for milestone donations

A total of 56 donors gave at the December American Red Cross blood drive, held Dec. 6, 2019, at Monett Community Church.

“This was the largest donor numbers for 2019 for the Monett Community Drive,” said Donna Beckett, American Red Cross Bloodmobile chairman for Monett.

Three participants achieved blood donation milestones at the event.

Lana Reavis, of Verona, reached the 10-gallon mark, while Ken Salogo, of Purdy, achieved the 15-gallon benchmark. Michel Garman, of Pierce City, tallied 105 gallons in blood donations with her contribution in December.

Additional donors included: David Beckett, Donna Beckett, Marilyn Bell, Carol Brown, Mary Brubacker, Mabel Brubacker, Pauline Brubacker, Ruth Brubacker, Sarah Brubacker, Roy Cash, Travis Coffey, Byron Curbow, Alexis Davis, Latricia Davis, Danny Day, Diana Dupre, Clara Fields, Michel Garman, Susan Gasser, Jeffery Gates, Howard Gentry, Sara Gripka, Karen Hamer, Walt Hamer, Samuel Helmkamp, Roxanne Hill, Richard Hurt, Jeff James, Aaron Johnson, Angela Johnson, Adair Kimberling, Kevin Kimberling, Judy Kitchen, Jeff Kuhnert, Marlene Mareth, Robert Mareth, Barbara McVickers, Aspen Oakley, Brittie Oakley, Paul Renfro, Charles Rupp, Adriana Salas, Victoria Salas, Cheryl Schad, George Schad, Jessie Shouse, Don Swanson, Emily Swanson, Paul Swanson, Theresa Swanson, Ronnie Veith, Joanna Weatherly, Julie Wesolek and Thomas Wesolek.

Schreiber Foods provided cheese, and Price Cutter Supermarket donated soda donors to enjoy. Participants also received an Amazon gift card for their efforts.

The next American Red Cross blood drive is slated for Monday, Feb. 10, at Church of Christ, 1107 N. Ninth St.
