Monett Chamber seeks award nominations
Nominations due by Jan. 31 for March 5 banquet
The Monett Chamber of Commerce is now seeking nominations for its two top awards: the Community Service Award and the Pride and Progress Award.
Winners will be announced at the chamberís annual membership meeting on Thursday, March 5.
The Community Service Award recognizes longtime activity in Monett and can reflect a wide range of contributions over time. The award recognizes activities that have improved the quality of life in the community.
The Pride and Progress Award recognizes an area of service or a specific project. The award is often given to recognize a beautification effort or a shorter term effort than is reflected by the Community Service Award.
Nominations must be submitted at the chamber office, 200 E. Broadway by Jan. 31. Chamber board members will review the recommendations and make a selection at their February meeting.
Forms for nominations are available at the Chamber office, 200 E. Broadway. Letters stating in detail why the nominee deserves recognition will also be accepted.
The Community Service Award has been given by the Chamber since 1972. Jon Suit received the award posthumously in 2019. The Pride and Progress Award has been presented since 1992. Monett Main Street was the recipient for 2019 for making downtown improvements.
A Business of the Year Award will also be named. First State Bank received the honor in 2019 for introducing its First on Front concert series.
