Verona FFA members Ashely Freiburger and Courtney Freiburger competed at National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Ind., in October. They competed in the AgriScience competition with their project, Flour Power. To qualify, the cousins had to conduct an experiment, write a research paper recording their findings, present their research and experiment to state judges, win at the state level, and submit their paper to Nationals to qualify. Nationals only selected 12 projects across the U.S. to qualify in the division of food systems. At Nationals, they presented their project to judges, members from across the country, and other attendees to the convention. Based on their professionalism, hard work, and scientific acumen the Verona students placed fifth in the nation. Contributed photo
