Wednesday, November 20, 2019
The Purdy FFA chapter hosted the 2019 Food for America program on Oct. 18. Purdy FFA chapter officers and members taught Purdy Elementary students in preschool through fourth grade about the origins of their food and how it is made. Students met a variety of livestock, including dairy and beef cows, a pig, a turkey and chickens. They also learned about crops, such as wheat, fescue and pumpkins. “Food for America was a great day,” said Purdy FFA member and participant M’Kena Propps. “The program ran really well, and both the FFA members and the kids had a great time.” Contributed photo
