MHS Class of 1959 holds reunion
Twenty gather for stories, fellowship
The Monett High School Class of 1959 recently held its 60th class reunion with 20 members attending all or part of the festivities.
On Friday evening, the group gathered at the home of Mike and Phyllis Garrett, where they enjoyed snacks and visitation.
On Saturday morning, the class enjoyed a breakfast buffet at Angus Branch Steakhouse, followed by a guided tour by Jeanne Ann Camp of the Monett Historical Society's Museum. A silent auction was held and the class voted to donate $256 to the museum.
The class convened in the evening for a group photo and catered dinner and program at the Monett Masonic Lodge. Mike Garrett served as the master of ceremonies. Pictures of all the deceased classmates were displayed along with various scrapbooks and memorabilia. The names were read as a moment of silence was observed.
