Ozark Festival Orchestra announces 40th season
Players welcome for first rehearsal on Tuesday
Rehearsals will begin Tuesday for the 40th season of the Ozark Festival Orchestra in Monett.
Players from across the area are welcome to join in performances. Music Director Todd Borgmann has announced a schedule that will honor the milestone in the orchestra's history.
The first concert will be held Oct. 6 and will be a “throwback concert,” bringing back some of the “greatest hits” from the OFO's past seasons. The seasonal concert on Dec. 15 will again feature a community choir presenting a masterwork for vocal forces and the orchestra.
The third concert will be on Feb. 23 and will spotlight several soloists under the theme “Past, Present and Future of Soloists.”
All three of these concerts will be held at 3 p.m. on these Sunday afternoons at the Monett High School Performing Arts Center.
The final concert will be the Marty Beckwith Memorial Pops in the Park Concert at the Monett City Park Casino, the pie-and-ice-cream gala featuring pops favorites in a relaxed atmosphere.
Rehearsals begin at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesdays and generally run for six weeks prior to the concert. Musicians on any instrument able to play at concert level are welcome to come to rehearsal or contact Borgmann at email@example.com.
The OFO is a primarily classical music orchestra with players from across the four-state area. The orchestra is supported by memberships, ads in the program book and sponsors. Concert sponsorships are provided by Robin and Tammy Walker and the Beckwith family.
