Collaboration planned for Monett school faculty
Professional development planned for March 26
Classes in the Monett school district will dismiss early on Thursday and hold no classes Friday through Tuesday for spring break and professional development for teachers.
Each campus will have different activities planned for professional development.
At Monett Elementary, teachers will not meet, but instead will hold their session on April 27 to hear Jenn Jones, a curriculum writer for the North Carolina-based firm Hello Literacy.
At Central Park Elementary, staff will engage in team building, trauma informed schools training and behavior intervention and support team work. As a book study, teachers will discuss Heather Forbes' book "Help for Billy," as well as work on team and grade level collaboration.
At the middle school, teachers will engage in team building activity as well as team and grade level collaboration.
At the middle school, in addition to team building and collaboration, faculty will focus on school safety and make preparations for the next school year.
At the high school, teachers will review preparations for the end of course exams. Teachers will also collaborate.
At the Scott Regional Technology Center. Industry Day will have teachers visiting industries and other technology schools to study ways to improve program areas.
