Leavitt begins mission work
Local LDS church member to serve in Utah
Katherine Leavitt of Pierce City has been called to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and she will serve in the Utah Salt Lake City Temple Square Mission.
Leavitt, the daughter of Benjamin and Megan Leavitt of Pierce City, began her mission on Nov. 14. She is a lifetime member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as organist for several years. While at Pierce City High School, graduating in 2017, she served as drum major for the marching band for two years. Prior to her mission call, she attended Brigham Young University in Provo, UT, and plans on returning after her mission.
“I feel very strongly this is what God wants me to do," Leavitt said. "I have prayed many times to know His will for my life and have felt that this will greatly bless my life and the lives of others. Although I was ready and willing to serve a mission anywhere in the world, I am especially excited to be assigned to work at Temple Square. I am so excited to share something that I know will be a huge blessing in the lives of others.”
She joins more than 67,000 LDS missionaries currently serving worldwide.
