Motivational speakers, Chicago tour offers highlights

Purdy High School Future business Leaders of America students were among more than 800 Missouri middle and high schools students who attended the FBLA National Fall Leadership Conference in Chicago on Nov. 2 and 3.

The six Purdy chapter members and their advisers enjoyed two days of leadership development and career planning. Keynote speakers were motivational speakers Brandon Lee White and Carlos V. Spencer.

Away from the conference, the group toured the Federal Reserve Bank, explored Milennium Park and faced their fears on the SkyDeck at Willis Tower.

“Chicago contributed great insight through the workshops and furthered my knowledge of the business world," said Purdy senior Kyler Propps observed.

Missouri was awarded largest FBLA (high school) chapter in attendance. Missouri FBLA, the Phi Beta Lambda chapter, is a registered 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization. Its mission is to bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs.
