Color guard teams to present colors at 12 celebrations

Cadets in the JROTC program at the Scott Regional Technology Center have a busy schedule planned next week to help area schools mark Veterans Day.

The first event will be in Monett for the Veteran's Day Luncheon at Scott Tech today. Immediately following the luncheon, a color guard team will support the Monett High School Veteran's Day Assembly at 1 p.m.

On Thursday, the cadets will visit the veterans residing in the Oak Pointe assisted living facility in Monett. On Friday, color guard teams will support events at Cassville High School at 9 a.m., Marionville High School at 9 a.m., Mt Vernon High School at 9:45 a.m., Billings High School at 10 a.m., Purdy High School at 11 a.m., Southwest High School in Washburn at 12:30 p.m., Pierce City High School at 1 p.m., and Exeter High School at 1:30 p.m.

Due to the number and geographic dispersion of the events, the JROTC program will divide into three different teams to cover all of the Veteran's Day activities.

On Monday, JROTC will provide a color guard to the Monett Walmart celebration at 10 a.m., and on Tuesday at 10 a.m. for the St. Mary's Catholic School in Pierce City.
