Winners named for Pierce City Car show

Awards given for audience appeal, best of decades

Winners have been announced for the 30th annual Pierce City Car Show, held on Oct. 6 at Pierce City's South Park.

Receiving the Wayne and Paula Sooter Award was Mike Lewis for his 1959 Chevy pickup.

The Committee Choice Award went to Carol Buck for her 1973 Plymouth.

The Dacy Foundation Award went to Rick Patton for his 1967 Chevy Nova.

The People Choice Award was presented to Doug Willis for his 2017 Dodge Challenger Hellcat.  

In the modified category, winners were broken down by decades.

1950s: First place, Mike Lewis, 1959 Chevy pickup; second place, Clarence Gaston, 1953 Chevy Belair hardtop.

1960s: First, Rick Patton, 1967 Chevy Nova.

1980-1999: First, Richard Green, 1993 Safari GMC van.

Similar awards were give in the stock division.

1960s: First, Linda Granger, 1968 Pontiac Firebird; second, Jack Reynolds 1965 Mustang; third, Glenn and Teri Fields, 1965 Mercury Cyclone.

1970s: First, Bill Cholley 1972 Pontiac Grand Prix; second, Carol Buck, 1973 Plymouth Satellite Sebring Plus

1980s: First, Dora Connor, 1988 Dodge.

1999-2018: First: 2017 Dodge Challenger Hellcat; second, Mario Hedrick, 2015 Mustang GT; third, Carl Smith, 2009 Ford Mustang.

Unfinished: First, Evan Malinowski, 1986 C10 Chevrolet.
