Verona woman hurt in 2-vehicle crash

Missed stop sign resulted in collision

A Verona woman received moderate injuries in a two-vehicle crash at 4:50 p.m. on Thursday at Farms Roads 2240 and 1150, one mile south of Verona at the Lawrence and Barry County line.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Montana Pennel, 20, of Aurora, was driving east in a 2005 Mazda Protege and failed to stop for a stop sign. Pennel's vehicle struck a northbound 2010 Chevrolet Traverse SUV, driven by Shanda Tosh, 41, of Verona.

Tosh was transported by Mercy Ambulance to Cox Monett Hospital. Tosh was wearing a safety belt. Pennel, who was not injured, also wore a safety belt.

Both vehicles received extensive damage.
