Not everything stops growing in summer heat

Saturday, August 11, 2018
While gardens may be challenged by this summerís weather, Linda and Lonnie Fulp at Myrtle and Eisenhower have had a surprise growing heartily in their yard. This polypore mushroom appeared saucer sized a month ago, and had now grown to 15 inches wide. The Fulps said they have never had anything like it growing in their yard before. They werenít sure if they wanted to keep it, but left alone the mushroom has grown quite well and produced a few offspring. Murray Bishoff/times-news@monett-times.com
