Robert Lewis Dryden, 84, of Northbrook, Ill., (former resident of Bellevue, Wash.) died Monday, August 6, 2018, after a 10-year battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
A graduate of Wichita State University, Bob was a marketing executive for IBM for 25 years. He then served in several executive positions at the Boeing Corporation. He was president of Boeing Computer Services in the early 1980s, president of Boeing Military and executive vice president of production for Boeing Commercial, until his retirement in 1998. Bob proudly served on many corporate and volunteer boards during his lifetime, including Puget Sound Energy, U.S. Bank, Overlake Hospital, Junior Achievement and the United Way. He served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1956.
Bob was the beloved husband of Carol Sue Ebner Dryden from Monett, Mo., for 62 years. He was a loving father to three daughters and son-in-laws, Kay Laurie (Jeff Zehe), Sherry Blackwell (Ben) and Susan Mathews (Rick). He was a devoted grandfather to Katie, Brian, David, Chad and Brett.
Bob Dryden encouraged, mentored and supported his many business associates, friends and family and garnered the love and respect of all who knew him. Bob will be greatly missed and always loved.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 11, 2018, at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, Monett, with interment to follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Reverend Paula Lively will be officiating. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in care of the funeral home or at www.alz.org. Arrangements have been entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett, Mo.
