Hendricks

1. Do you believe the county road districts need to be consolidated? If not, why not? If so, how would you facilitate the change?

I would take the first ninety-days to gather information from road commissioners and citizens to get their input on consolidation before making any decisions. I personally believe that we can reduce cost through better communication. We can work together to form a countywide plan that addresses all districts, so all citizens will have safe roads and bridges.

2. Do you see the county jail as adequate for the long term? If so, why? If not, what do you plan to do about it?

I believe it is important to be financially prepared and have a game plan for the future. I will work with Sheriff Davis and the Barry County Sheriff’s department to meet their needs and the necessary improvements to the jail. Mostly, I will focus on working with our churches, schools and the judicial system to implement new plans for stopping domestic violence, theft and drug addiction to keep our citizens from going down that path.
