Purdy students introduce book box for community

Saturday, June 23, 2018
On Tuesday, May 15, the Purdy Chapter of the National English Honor Society completed its community-driven book box project. The box in question, handcrafted by Purdy High School student Kyler Propps, is located directly next to the Purdy recycling center. The box was opened and stocked with books, the majority of which were left over from the similarly sponsored community book drive, and is now open to all members of the community to take, swap, borrow, or leave as many books as they wish. The Purdy National English Honor Society is sponsored by faculty advisers Kayla Branstetter and Michelle Hilburn. Striking a pose around the box, NEHS officers are pictured clockwise, from left: Hannah Reid, president; Emma Harkey, activities chairperson; Madison Renkoski, historian and Isbell Ibarra, secretary.
