The 18th annual Monett Lions Club Steak Dinner will be held at Scott Tech on Saturday, April 14. Dinner will be served from 5:00-7:00 pm and consists of steak, baked potato, slaw, beans, roll, dessert, coffee, tea, lemonade. Tickets are $12.00 and can be purchased from any Monett Lion or by phoning Barb Carroll at 417- 236-0968.

Monett Middle School’s annual induction ceremony for the National Junior Honor Society will be held Saturday, April 28 at 1 p.m. in the MHS Performing Arts Center.

Tickets are available at the Monett Museum to hear the Irish band Keltic Knot perform at 7 p.m. on April 20 at the Monett High School Performing Arts Center, a benefit for the Monett Historical Society.

The Barry County Health Department and County Commissioners are hosting a public meeting on the proposed prescription drug monitoring program ordinance on April 23 at 6:30 p.m. at the Barry County Courthouse, located at 700 Main St.

Monett Special Road District will meet in regular session on April 18th at 5:15 P.M. at the Road District Barn at 220 S. Eisenhower. The meeting is open to the public.

The Monett/Purdy Habitat for Humanity will hold its annual meeting Tuesday, April 17 at 6 p.m. at the Angus Branch Steakhouse in Monett.

The Ozark Festival Orchestra presents its final concert of the season at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 15, at the Monett City Park Casino. The benefit for the orchestra will serve pie and ice cream and hold a silent auction for arts lovers in addition to a concert of movie music. Serving starts at 1:30 p.m., music at 2:30 p.m. Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children 12 and under.

Live old-time music will be offered at 6:30 p.m. on April 13 at the Clio Community Center, Highways 37 and 248, next to the Clio Cemetery. Music is offered on an open mike basis so performers are welcome.

The Barry County Genealogical & Historical Society will have a business meeting Monday, April 16, 7 pm at the Bayless/Salyer House in Cassville.

The Pleasant Ridge Special Road District will hold its monthly meeting in the basement of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church at 6 pm on April 16, and is open to the residents of the road district.

The Purdy Special Road District commissioners will meet at 10 a.m. on April 9 at the district barn at 200 S. Ninth St, south of the city cemetery.

Verona preschool enrollment will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on April 12 and from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 13. Children who will be age 4 by Aug. 1 are eligible. Appointments may be made by calling 417-498-4900.

The third annual Autism Awareness Event will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on April 14 at Oak Park in Aurora. A vehicle show, auction and live music are planned.

The annual salad luncheon, hosted by the St. Lawrence Catholic Church Parish Council of Catholic Women, will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on April 25 at the church fellowship hall, 405 Seventh St. in Monett. Cost is $7.

OACAC in Aurora offers life skills classes. A session on “Love and Logic” is offered at 9 .m. April 19-20 and 23-26. Pre-registration is required and may be made by calling 417-678-5031. Classes to be held at the Aurora OACAC Office at 203 S. Washington.

Cox Monett Hospital is hosting its sixth annual diaper drive to help families on tight budgets. Both cloth and disposable diapers are accepted during the drive, which goes until April 30. Diapers will be given to Monett Community Kitchen, Aurora Tri-County Pregnancy Resource Center, Diaper Bank of the Ozarks in Springfield, and Jesus Was Homeless in Branson. The organizations will then distribute the diapers to local families in need. Drop-offs may be made at Cox Monett Hospital.

Monett Masonic Lodge No. 129, AF&AM, will offer a dinner of ham and beans or beef stew, potato salad and cornbread from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 17. Carry-outs will be available. Tickets are $4, available from any Lodge member or at the door.

Hospice Compassus will be conducting training for persons interested in becoming non-medical volunteers. The training will be from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25, at the Hospice Compassus office, 845 Hwy 60, Suite A, in Monett.
