Pizzazz Poms bring back hardware from state

Dance team claims trophy, medal in state competition

The Monett High School Pizzazz Poms brought back a fifth place trophy and a fifth place individual medal for competition at state held on Feb. 23 and 24 at the Family Arena in St. Charles.

The team advanced to state after competing in the Sugar Bears Invitational at Missouri STate University on Feb. 17. The squad received second place for the pom routine and third place for their mix routine.†

The team then competed at the Missouri Dance Team Championships in St. Charles. Two team members competed in the solo competition held on Feb. 23.†At that level, Gabi Gollhofer won fifth place in the 11th grade solo division.†

On Feb. 24, the team earned fifth for its pom routine in the 2A division.

Harriett Meyer, KayleyAnna Dohmen, Gabi Gollhofer, and Zoe Rosenbalm earned Academic All-State awards for having a GPA of 3.5 or higher.†Madelyn Milburn received an Academic All-State award and medal for have a 4.0 GPA.†

"The team only has a week to rest before tryout clinics begin on March 5 to start the selection process for next yearís team," said Coach Tamara Stadter.
