Kindness wins prize for Verona fifth graders

Beth Fenske’s fifth grade class at Verona Elementary School were the winners of the “Great Kindness Challenge,” a proactive and positive bullying prevention initiative that improves school climate and increases student engagement. The Great Kindness challenge is one week devoted to performing as many acts of kindness as possible. As winners, the class received a movie and popcorn party. The total number of acts of kindness for the Elementary School in kindergarten through sixth grade were 1,538 for the week. Contributed photo
