Central Park Elementary Odyssey of the Mind Student Group provided an overview of activities that foster diversive/critical thinking and problem solving when they spoke at the January meeting of the Monett R-1 Board of Education. Students shared what being a part of the group. Last year the group advanced to state competition and a chance to go to the world meet, but fell short in fundraising to reach that event. As a voice of support, board members approved matching fundraising if the group once again qualifies for the World Tournament. Tracy Copening, Erin Meng, and Denise Deffendall are leaders of the group, pictured with the students. Students in the program are: Marley Jackson, Allison Goodson, Meredith Merriman, Zoey Lynn, Ada Bluel, Eleas Lynn, Reena Johnson, Jenavieve Hightower, Kalli Hohensee, Parker Doss, Ethan Meng, Aiden Cavnar and Rowan George.
