Proceeds double efforts from last year for food pantry

The third annual Silver Bell Tea, a fundraiser for the Alliance of Churches Food Pantry, was held Dec. 5 at Shell Knob's Central Community United Methodist Church.

Guests attending the sell-out event were greeted with a cup of hot cider as they strolled among the 12 decorated tables, reflecting the Christmas season.

The Garden Club and Holy Family Catholic Church filled this year's guest tables. Themed Christmas trees added to the atmosphere of the event.

The Shepherd's Ringers, a handbell choir from Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Kimberling City, provided the pre-lunch entertainment.

A benefit drawing was held. Connie Hartman won the decorated Christmas tree, Becky Caddell won the Christmas wreath and Sue Dick won the

Christmas four-person dinner from Harter House.

Hard work by ladies of Central Community United Methodist Church and support from the community made the event festive and successful. The event raised $1,811.82, nearly double last year's amount.
