Purdy business students excel at MSSU Media Showcase

2 first places, many honorable mentions received

A delegation of Purdy High School Business Media students competed in the annual Missouri Southern State University Media Showcase, held on the MSSU campus on Dec. 7.

According to sponsor Ashley Brown, the group returned with many accolades. Two students claimed first place honors: Maddie Renkoski, first place in feature photography for "Counting for a Cure," and Antonio Rodriguez, in sports photography for "Strip the Leather."

Photography earned many honors for the Purdy students.

Emma Harkey received third place in sports photography for "For the Win" and honorable mention in feature photography for "New Horizons." Savannah Burch earned honorable mention in feature photography for "Sweven and Cotton Sky."

Colby Boyd received honorable mention in feature photography for "Edgewood Creek." Bayleigh Schad earned honorable mention in feature photography for "Haunted."

Purdy students created the comedy video "Never Say No to Echo," which earned honorable mention. Participating in the collaborative effort on the video were Maddie Renkoski, Anah Dover, Emma Harkey and Isbell Ibarra.

Connie Lee also won third place in video animation for "A Series of Posts, Stories and Jokes."
