Creating the Meatasaurus

Saturday, December 9, 2017
As a part of their science chapter at St. Mary’s Catholic School in Pierce City, first and second grade students created a dinosaur from cardboard boxes to display in the multipurpose room of the school. Students created a new species of the Mesozoic Era creature, the Meatasaurus, which they named Gar. Students worked most of the day to create the bumpy-textured skin and arrange boxes in descending order to create the torso and tail of the majestic beast. Students working on the project included: Kellen Avondet, Avery Blackburn, Nolan Gripka, Zoé Gurley, Blake Landoll, Carly Landoll, Kyler Rivera, Cael Torrez, Hadley Barchak, Max Brown, Thomas Clymer, Evy Eckhart, Dane Gibbs, Molly O’Hara, Henry Shewmake and Kallie Taylor.
