Faculty focused on behavior, standards-based learning

Classes will be out in the Monett R-1 School District on Nov. 27 as faculty undergo training during a professional development day.

At Monett Elementary, teachers will work on behavior intervention support team (BIST) training, as well as reading and writing strategies. At Central Park Elementary, teachers will combine BIST with recovery room training. Classroom teachers will work on the visual program ST Math, while curriculum teams work on standards-based learning revisions and updating proficiency scales.

At Monett Intermediate and middle school teachers will both work on standards-based learning and proficiency sales. Intermediate faculty will also focus on student-led assessments training and content collaboration.

High school faculty will concentrate on strategies for English language learners and classroom engagement. Other emphases will look at scheduling and scale development plus data analysis.

Faculty at the Scott Regional Technology Center will meet in collaboration teams. Training is also planned in CPR and first aid.
