Pennel to celebrate 100th birthday
Party planned for Oct. 9 in Aurora
Hazel "Irene" Pennel will celebrate her 100th birthday on Oct. 9.
Invitation has been extended to friends for a luncheon in her honor from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 7, at the Faith Worship Center, on Dyer Avenue, west of the Walmart in Aurora.
Irene was the daughter of Any and Fletcher Dodson. She was born in Purdy and is a lifelong area resident. She attended schools in Cedar Bluff, McDowell, Purdy and Cassville. She had three brothers and four sisters.
She was married to Wayne Pennel for more than 50 years. They had three sons. Irene has six grandchildren, five great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
Irene was a member of the Easyville Baptist Church. She now lives in Aurora.
