Purdy FFA hosts Food for America Day
The Purdy FFA Chapter hosted its annual Food For America Day on September 1 at the Purdy Agriculture Education facility.
Food For America gives the opportunity for Purdy students in grades preschool through fourth to learn more about agriculture. Young students also get a glimpse of what the FFA does within our school.
An FFA member led each of the elementary classes through a corn maze, featuring FFA “scarecrows” that educated students about various agricultural crops. Students then visited stations to learn about different farm animals. The FFA members prepared presentations about the animals and answered questions from the participants.
A team of 19 officers and members spent the entire day working diligently, and made the day a great success. "The day ran very smooth and was a great educational experience for the younger generations," said Mason Brewer, FFA group leader.
