VOICE to offer career introductions to children
Program made available through OACAC in Aurora
The Ozarks Area Community Action Corporation (OACAC) will begin offering Vocational Opportunities Inspiring Children in Elementary (VOICE) in Lawrence County this autumn.
VOICE is a community action project presenting career opportunities to children in a fun and engaging learning experience.
For the past three years, VOICE has been offered with success in several southwest Missouri counties. Children will have the opportunity to meet with local professionals representing different career paths, including arts and communication, business management and technology, health services, human services, industrial engineering and technology, and natural resources and agriculture.
The Lawrence County OACAC office will begin recruiting interested persons and business representatives who would be willing to volunteer time and expertise during the 2017-2018 school year. Volunteers may choose to serve as members of a network or join as part of the process staff.
Interested persons are encouraged to contact the OACAC Lawrence County Neighborhood Center at 417-678-5031.
The project is funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services through the Missouri Department of Social Services Family Support Division.
