Dr. Michael Mumert to visit Physicians Clinic

Dr. Michael Mumert, board eligible neurosurgical specialist with Springfield Neurological and Spine Institute (SNSI), will begin seeing patients monthly at the Cox Monett Visiting Physicians Clinic, 815 N. Lincoln Ave.

Mumert specializes in surgical evaluations and treatment of disorders of the central and peripheral nervous system including congenital anomalies, trauma, tumors, vascular disorders, infections of the brain or spine, and stroke or degenerative diseases of the spine.

A native of Topeka, Kan., Mumert attended Evangel University as a student athlete, studying biology and competing as a member of the varsity baseball team. After completing his bachelorís degree in 2003, he went on to earn his medical degree from the University of Kansas. Following medical school, Mumert completed a six-year neurosurgical residency at the University of Utah, and then spent an additional year in training at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, where he obtained a complex spine fellowship in 2014.

In his spare time, Mumert enjoys spending time with his wife and family, pursuing outdoor activities and closely following his favorite sports teams.

His first day at the clinic will be on Tuesday, Aug. 22.
