Carnes earns DVM degree

Erin Carnes, of Monett, earned a doctoral degree from University of Missouri's College of Veterinary Medicine and was awarded the H. Richard Adams Scholarship for understanding the human-animal bond and excellent client communication skills. The scholarship is awarded annually to a senior veterinary student.

The 2008 graduate of Monett High School is currently employed as an associate veterinarian at All About Pets in Purdy. Her parents are Gary and Sue Gasser.

Since 2009, graduates of the MU College of Veterinary Medicine, Missouri's only academic institution to confer the DVM, have had a pass rate of 97 percent on the North American Veterinary Licensing Examination, with 100 percent achieved most years.
