Verona graduates receive scholarships
Local, school scholarships awarded reaches $650,200
Verona High School graduates received scholarships during commencement exercises on May 5.
Counselor Carolyn Brown announced that Verona graduates qualified for $650,200 in scholarships. Included in the total is $176,000 worth of A+ scholarships. Each of the 16 who qualified have the opportunity to use up to $11,000 toward their future education at a participating community college.
Recipients and scholarships presented included:
• Witt Bobski: Fraternal Order of the Eagles, $500; Missouri Southern State University FBLA business, $500.
• Diana Estrada: Truman College, $16,000; Community Teachers Association, $300.
• Kayin Lee: Missouri Boys State, $800.
• Landin Reid: Bethel University athletic scholarship for archery, $30,000.
• Noel French: MSSU presidential, $7,000 for four years.
• Caitlin Vidmosko: MSSU presidential, $7,000 for four years; Ozark Electric Cooperative, $250; John J. Lee from First Independent Bank, $1,000; Community Teachers Association, $300; Holt Atkeson Memorial, $500.
• Madison Shrum: Verona Athletic Booster Club, $500; MFA, $2,000.
• Jasmine Lechner, MSSU presidential, $7,000 for four years; Verona Athletic Booster Club, $500.
• Rhiannon Evans, Swarthmore College, $65,774 for four years, total $263,096.
• Madison Shrum: Verona Athletic Booster Club, $500.
• Allison Krueger: FFA, $500; American Red Cross blood drive, two totaling $500.
