Pierce City looking to bring home medals

Just one weekend remains for the Pierce City track team and their season — the state track meet.

The Eagles are sending three athletes in five events to this year’s big meet in Jefferson City after they placed in the top-four at the sectional round.

Brayden Miller, discus; Trey Sagehorn, pole vault and long jump; Jordan Cruz, shot put and javelin, will represent the Green and White on Friday and Saturday.

Results from the sectional meet are as follows:

First

• Discus: Miller, 154-0

• Long jump: Sagehorn, 20-6

Second

• Pole vault: Sagehorn, 14-3 (personal record)

Third

• Shot put: Cruz, 45-6

Fourth

• Javelin: Cruz, 127-4

Fifth

• 100-meter hurdles: Sagehorn, 17.39

• 4x200 relay: Tim Gilliam, Jackson Kleiboeker, Copening and Kevin Abramovitz, 1:35.76

• 400-meter: Abramovitz, 53.02

• 200-meter: Abramovitz, 24.19

• High jump: Devin Cox, 6-0

• Triple jump: Kleiboeker, 40-7

Seventh

• 1,600-meter run: Aryn Moudy, 5:01

• 300-meter: Dominic Smith, 46.59

• High jump: Abramovitz, 5-8

• Long jump: Cox, 5-8

• Triple jump: Trenton Kluck, 38-5

Eighth

• 300-meter: Colten O’Hara, 47.47

• 4x400-meter: Smith, Kluck, Gilliam and Moudy, 3:56
