Honor graduates named at Monett High School
Schedule released for honors assembly, graduation
Honor graduates have been announced for the Class of 2017 at Monett High School, as well as the schedule for year-end activities.
Principal David Williams as announced the annual senior honors assembly will be held at 7 p.m. on May 15 in the performing arts center. Academic honors for the year, as well as scholarships from local organizations and from colleges and universities, will be held at that time.
Baccalaureate will be held at 8 p.m. on May 17 at the performing arts center. Commencement will be held at 8 p.m. on May 19 in the high school gym.
The top 10 percent of the class includes 15 students. They are: Karsyn Grace Ballay, daughter of Randall and Melissa Balley; Alexis Blaire Brannon, daughter of Darin and Deena Brannon; Natia Compton, daughter of Ruth Compton and Nate Kebede; Jacob Robert Furry, son of David and Michele Furry; Cale Mark Harper, son of Mark and Kelly Harper; Deven Nicole Kimzey; daughter of Darren and Candi Kimzey; Emily Alene Krueger, daughter of Kurt and Lisa Krueger; Shelby Kaitlyn Kuhnert, daughter of jeff and Julie Kuhnert; Shane Robert Pass, son of Jim and Cindi Pass; Charles Joshua Pitts, son of Jeremy and Teresa Pitts; John Rausch, son of George and Ann Marie Rausch; Joel Ridenour, son of Brad and Ruth Ridenour; Dario Rodriguez, son of Jesus and Priciliana Rodriguez; Samantha Mirle Salas, daughter of Hilario and Maria Salas; and Haley Nichole Williams, daughter of Jack and Rejeanna Williams.
In accordance with new tradition at the school, there are no valedictorians or salutatorians for the graduating class. The top 10 percent voted on Monday to select two speakers from their ranks as graduation speakers. The speakers will be Cale Harper and Deven Kimzey.
