77-year-old Pierce City man located after car ran out of gas

A man reported missing from Pierce City early Sunday morning was found on Sunday night south of Denver in Douglas County, Colo.

At about 1 a.m. Sunday, the Pierce City Police Department issued an endangered silver advisory for Joseph Sisseck, 77, who went missing from the home at 207 E. Monroe in Pierce City at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Mike Abramovitz, Pierce City police chief, said Joseph Sisseck, 77, was located at 6:23 p.m. Sunday when his vehicle ran out of gas along the side of the road and Douglas County authorities learned of the silver advisory by running his vehicle’s license plate.

According to the advisory, Sisseck was upset about a dog that had been put down and left with his two other dogs, a black and brown shepherd and a white shih tzu.

The dogs were not harmed.

Sisseck was transported to a hospital, according to Abramovitz, but no more information on his condition was available.
