Scott Tech welders place in area competition

Two Monett students earn first place finishes

Several welding students from the Scott Regional Technology Center in Monett placed at the Midwest Technical Institute welding competition in Springfield recently.

Winning first place were two Monett High School seniors: Jacob Lopez in the Flight B, winning a $500 prize, and Hector Aldaba, Flight B, first place in the written exam and seventh place overall.

Taking second was Cooper George, a Pierce City High School senior in the Flight B, winning a $250 prize. Devon Russell, a Cassville High senior, took third place and won $100.

Also placing were: Eduardo Perez, Verona, Flight B, fourth; Brayden Wright, Monett, Flight A, fifth; Jose Reyes Aurora, Flight B, fifth; Jay Fields, Southwest, Flight A, sixth.

Also competing were Aaron Crouch, from the Berean Christian Academy; Kevin Villa, from Purdy; and Darian McCracken, Monett, all in Flight A.
