Southwest Center hosts annual FFA Contest Workshop
More than 800 teens participate in career events
On March 9, the University of Missouri Southwest Research Center near Mt. Vernon, hosted 55 schools and 847 registered students for the annual FFA Contest Workshop.
Seven Career Development Events (CDEs) were offered at this yearís event. Each CDE was setup with a contest environment, but teams are not graded or ranked. After each team has completed their judging, the contest superintendents and FFA advisors are then given an opportunity to teach what the students did right and what they need to work on.
"This event has developed a great working relationship between the FFA advisors and the University of Missouriís Southwest Research Center," said David Cope, Southwest Center director.
