Monett choir students head to state

Nine Monett High School choir students qualified for state at district contests held at Missouri Southern State University in Joplin. Headed to the University of Missouri in Columbia to compete on April 29 will be, front row from left: Elise Ridenour, Carly Jenkins, Jacob Furry, Karmen DePriest and Riley Braden, all in the mixed double quartet. DePriest also received a 1 rating on her solo. Back row: Erin McCaffrey, who advances with Ridenour and Jenkins as part of a trio; Chelsea Henderson, who received a 2 rating on her solo; Cassidy Pachner, part of the mixed double quartet and earning a 2 on her solo; Joseph Hill, earning a 2 on his solo; and vocal music teacher Deborah Breon, in her first year at Monett.
