Missouri Scholars program recognizes Rhiannon Evans
Verona senior earns Honorable Mention in state program
Rhiannon Evans, a senior at Verona High School, has been selected as an Honorable Mention student in the 2017 Missouri Scholars 100, a statewide program that honors 100 of Missouri's top academic students in the Class of 2017.
Schools from across the state were invited to nominate students for the honor.
Each student nominated had to first meet criteria of an Academic Decathalon, which included 10 events designed to assure the academic strength of the student. Requirements included having a minimum grade point average of 3.75 on a 4.0 scale, a minium ACT score of 29 or a minimum SAT score of 1,000, be listed in the 10 percent of the class, and having taken upper level courses in math, science, English and foreign language. Students must also have excellent attendance, be an exemplary school citizen and be involved in a school activity program.
