Kenny Smith: Thank you for making 2016 a successful year
To citizens and friends of Pierce City and the surrounding area, the Masonic Lodge (Decatur Lodge No. 400) of Pierce City would like to say thank you for making 2016 our most successful year in recent memory.
Our rib dinner at the beginning of the year was well received, allowing us to make a generous gift to our Scholarship Fund for a Pierce City graduating senior.
In the summer, we and the local Knights of Columbus erected a great pole barn, just in time to be used for our annual Howdy Neighbor Day rib dinner.
The year finished with the Decatur-sponsored Turkey Trot Run and Walk to sponsor Pierce City School’s backpack program. The runners and all sponsors raised $10,540 and the Missouri Grand Lodge of Masons matched $10,000, making this the largest donation in the city and our history.
So to say a big thank you, we are having a free pulled pork barbecue dinner for all. Please come and enjoy.
We will also have, at that time, our famous ribs for sale to take home, if you would like. (We would like to thank Derrick Taylor for donating the hog and J&J Processing for the processing.)
The dinner will take place at the Lodge Hall, just north of the Pierce City bandstand on Walnut Street on Saturday, April 8, from 11 a.m. until the meat runs out.
Thank you all again,
Pierce City Decatur Lodge No. 400
