Art classes offered at Pierce City Artopia

Schedule of sessions, costs detailed for weekly sessions

The Artopia arts center, run by the Pierce City Arts Council at 106 W. Commercial St. in downtown Pierce City, has announced a scheduled of activities for the month.

On Mondays, classes will be offered in watercolor basics from 10 a.m. to noon. Cost is $30. Registration in this ongoing class is available by calling Pam at 417-592-1136.

Also on Mondays will be a sculpture art from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost is $5.. Small children must be accompanied by a parent. Registration may be made by calling Laura at 417-489-7438. Basic music lessons for all ages is available at a cost of $15 for 30 minutes or $25 or an hour.

Tech Time lessons for all ages are available at the same rate, along with violin lessons for all ages. Tutoring is available at $20 an hour. People may sign up by calling Sabina at 417-635-1111.

On Tuesdays, arts and crafts session will be available from 4 to 6 p.m. for $20, including supplies for participants age 8 and older. On the third Tuesdays, March 21 for the first session, clay sculpting will be offered for participants age 8 and older from 6 to 8:30 p.m. for $30, including materials. On Wednesday, lessons in drawing skills with pencil or charcoal will be offered from 4 to 6 p.m. Cost is $10 an hour, including materials. Registration may be made by calling Laura at 417-489-7438.

On Thursdays, "All Things Fiber Art" are offered in subjects of interest tailored for participants, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cost is $20 for two hours. Registration may be made by calling Marion at 417-388-1778.

"Arts and Crafts" is offered Thursdays from 4 to 6 p.m., costing $20. Participants may call Laura at 417-489-7438.

On March 16, a session in "Essential Oils" will be offered at 6 p.m. People may register with Shelly at 417-489-6555.

On the fourth Saturdays, beginning March 25, a "Yarn and Hooks" class for fiber artists will be offered from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Cost is $25, tools included. Interested persons may contact Lee at 417-476-6500.
